WHAT TO EXPECT?
A therapeutic journey is very personal. it's a process of growth, healing and self-discovery.
Therapy promotes behavioural and experiential transformation by facilitating insight and by helping form new thought patterns and emotional responses.
During the initial therapy session, you and your therapist may dedicate time to getting to know one another. While a relationship with a therapist is a professional one, it is still essential to be able to connect on a personal level initially and build trust.
A therapist may ask what needs or issues you’d like to address in your treatment together, what you’ve done to manage your mental health in the past, and what has worked and what has not. This serves to understand how best to support you, define therapy goals and establish a treatment plan together.
